The Ethnic Collection S.A. is situated in Quito, Ecuador. EachWe have been manufacturing balsa wood carvings since 1996. The inspiration for working with balsa wood carvings came from travelling to small remote villages in the Ecuadorian rainforest where these carvings originated. Our workshop in the outskirts of Quito provides food and accommodation to twenty artisans and their families, who are from Puyo, a village in the Ecuadorian rainforest. We opened a second workshop in Puyo to provide jobs to artisans who cannot move to Quito . Fifteen people work there.

In 2004 we formed DecoArt to manufacture fused glass products. DecoArt hires eight artisans permanently and twelve on a maquila basis.

We started to export our products in 1997. Today we export to twelve countries across three continents. This allows us to provide secure, full-time employment with good conditions to forty-three artisans and their families.

Our philosophy is to offer high quality products and excellent customer service. Our customers always come first.

We are also very concerned with the need to protect our rainforest. The timber we use comes from plantations in the Coast Region of Ecuador

We exhibit our products at the Frankfurt Messe twice a year, at the Ambiente (mid February) and at the Tendence (end of August). You are welcome to visit us at our stand!
